Running out of a regular medicine can be worrying, especially at a weekend or when you are away from your GP surgery. Contact the pharmacy as soon as you realise there is a problem.
What the pharmacist will check
We need to confirm the medicine, dose and evidence of previous prescribing. The pharmacist will also check that an emergency supply is legal, clinically safe and appropriate for you.
Bring useful information
- The medicine packet or repeat slip
- Your NHS number if known
- Details of your GP surgery
- The NHS App or another current medicines record
Not every medicine can be supplied in an emergency, but we will always explain the safest next step.
